Course Requirements

  • Must be at least 10 years old (10-14 year olds receive the PADI JR Open Water Diver certification)
  • Must be in good health and comfortable in the water
  • Must be able to swim 200 yards and float for 10 minutes
  • Have an enthusiastic attitude and want to have FUN!

Materials and Equipment Needed

Materials Needed (students are required to have their own materials):

  • PADI eLearning
    • You will be required to show proof of eLearning completion and take an eLearning quiz.
  • Logbook
  • Student Dive Planning Slate

Personal Diving Equipment Required:

  • Mask & Snorkel, Fins, Lycra Socks, Boots, Gloves, Mask scrub and defog solution
  • Cost varies depending on what pieces of equipment fit your specific need
  • Please make an appointment with Dive-n-Trips for a personal fitting prior to your first class.
  • Ask about our “MAKE IT RIGHT! policy!

Rental Equipment Included In Your Class Fees:

Rental of your wetsuit, hood, buoyancy compensator, regulator, gauges, tanks, weight belt, weights and gear bag are all included in your Dive N Trips store fees (see prices below)

Course Scheduling

Getting certified is simple as one, two, three!

Orientation: Two hours on the first Wednesday of every month, consisting of course logistics, paperwork, equipment fitting and equipment purchases.
Pool: Two pool sessions of five hours each, followed by short classroom sessions.  There may be an additional short pool session on a weekday evening if needed.
Open Water Dives: Two days in an open water environment (ocean or lake,) where you will complete four actual open water dives. You can complete these with us, or at a warm water location.

Your Instructor may adjust the schedule according to class needs.

  • $200 – Gear Rental Fee (includes BCD, regulator, wetsuit, hood, tanks, and weights for the duration of the class)
  • $200 – Instructor Fee

Warm Water Referral Course eLearning – $540

Includes the following price breakdown:

  • $195 – PADI elearning w/ Digital Manual, Digital RDP Table, Certification Fee/Card
  • $45 – Student Skill Slate, Logbook
  • $150 – Gear Rental Fee (includes BCD, regulator, wetsuit, hood, tanks, and weights for the duration of the class)
  • $150 – Instructor Fees

Private Instruction – One student $915     Two students – $790 per student     Three or More Students – $765 per student

  • $195 – PADI elearning w/ Digital Manual, Digital RDP Table, Certification Fee/Card
  • $45 – Student Skill Slate, Logbook
  • $250 – Gear Rental Fee
  • $425 Instructor Fee ($300 each for two students, $275 each for three or more students)
