Course Requirements

  • Must be at least 10 years old (10-14 year olds receive the PADI JR Open Water Diver certification)
  • Must be in good health and comfortable in the water
  • Must be able to swim 200 yards and float for 10 minutes
  • Have an enthusiastic attitude and want to have FUN!

Course Topics

PADI Course Directors are PADI Master Instructors who have taken the next step and joined an elite group of instructor trainers. Course Directors teach the PADI Instructor Development Courses (IDCs) and other instructor-level training, and thus are the scuba diving industry’s most influential leaders and role models. In your Course Director Prep. Program you will:

  • Work on your diving skills to Instructor Trainer role model Level
  • Develop exemplary control positions of student divers
  • Master your evaluation skills of Knowledge Development, Confined Water and Open Water presentations

Diving Equipment Needed

You will need all your own equipment. Rental equipment is NOT included in your course fees!

You will need to purchase the following to complete your course:

  • Current PADI Instructor & PADI Course Director manuals
  • PADI Confined Water & Open Water Evaluation Slates
  • Professional Logbook
  • All PADI Materials listed on the PADI Pro web site

Course Scheduling

Orientation: Two hours of course logistics, paperwork, and scheduling

Classroom: Several classroom sessions of 3 to 4 hours each

Pool: Several pool sessions of 4 hours each
Open Water: Several

Your Instructor will sit down and design a schedule to assist you with completing your program.
